POLYOC: Photogrammetric Measurements of Buildings and Architectural Models via Multi-View Stereovision
نویسنده
چکیده
We present a new method to derive a reliable 3D description of buildings and architectural models based on stereovision using multiple camera views. This multi-view stereo technique has been successfully applied to many objects and has proved to be more reliable and more accurate than the well known binocular and even trinocular stereo techniques. The method has the following attractive features: Flexibility: Arbitrary positions of an arbitrary amount of different camera views are allowed. Automatic Calibration of each camera view is obtained by a simple procedure. Reliable Stereo Analysis: The matching of corresponding image features of different images relies on a basic paradigm of Hypothesis Prediction and Validation. Knowledge Base: Heuristics can be applied to correct the object reconstruction. CAD-Interface: The 3D description of the reconstructed object can automatically transferred via DXF to a CAD-system. Low Costs: No special and expensive technical equipment like a laser or an UV range finder is necessary. A camera, a PC with CAD-system and a digitizing device like a digitizing tablet with a pointing pen are sufficient.

Building 3d Photo-texture Model Integrated with Gis for Architectural Heritage Conservation
Architectural heritage must be conserved by using contemporary approaches. Conserving the historical buildings depend on appropriate measurements and data related to their life history. At this stage, digital photogrammetric techniques and GIS (Geographical Information System) integration would be one of the best solutions. GIS has a capability to integrate and update graphic and non-graphic da...
متن کاملTowards Building Information Modelling for Existing Structures
Capturing and modelling 3D information of the built environment is very challenging. A number of techniques and technologies are now in use such as EDM, GPS, photogrammetric applications, and building surveying applications. However, use of these technologies has not been practical and efficient with regard to time, cost and accuracy. A multi-disciplinary knowledge base, created from studies an...
متن کاملMulti-view 3d City Model Generation with Image Sequences
Rapid texture mapping of buildings and other man-made objects is a key aspect for reconstruction of 3D city landscapes. An effective approach by the way of coarse-to-fine 3D city model generation based on digital photogrammetric theory is proposed. Three image sequences, two oblique photography to buildings’ walls and one vertical photography to building’s roof, acquired by digital video camera...
متن کاملIntegration of Close Range Photogrammetric Surveys in the Design Process of Architectural Projects
The purpose of our study is to test close range photogrammetry as an engineering tool, in an architectural project for two different sites. The first is an urban site in Reims (Champagne, France), where we are studying the conversion of an eight hectares wide waste ground, left vacant following old military barracks. The second is the old malt house of Ingwiller (Alsace, France), where it is ne...
متن کاملData Product Specification Proposal for Architectural Heritage Documentation with Photogrammetric Techniques: A Case Study in Brazil
Photogrammetric documentation can provide a sound database for the needs of architectural heritage preservation. However, the major part of photogrammetric documentation production is not used for subsequent architectural heritage projects, due to lack of knowledge of photogrammetric documentation accuracy. In addition, there are only a few studies with rigorous analysis of the requirements for...
